Best Practices Hearing Consultation

A diagnostic hearing evaluation is the first step in determining your hearing ability. It will detail the extent, type, and specifics of your particular hearing loss. The diagnostic evaluation will be performed using an audiometer or by diagnostic equipment called an Otogram.

At Pasadena Hearing Care, our providers always follow Best Practice guidelines.  Best Practices are a set of professional procedures that are accepted or prescribed as being correct or most effective for the diagnosis and treatment of hearing disorders as set forth by the American Academy of Audiology.  They are determined following years of clinical and laboratory research.  The assessment includes the following:

  • Middle Ear Assessment

  • Air Conduction Testing

  • Bone Conduction Testing

  • Speech Reception Threshold

  • Recorded Word Recognition Scores

  • Comfortable and Uncomfortable Loudness Assessment

  • Speech In Noise Testing (SIN)
